Work Experience:
Name of organisation:
BMW AG.
Job title:
Praktikum.
Dates:
August 05 to August 06
Job Description:
I worked with the visualisation / virtual reality team supporting the BMW design process by preparing 3D CAS data for high end visualisations, such as renderings, real time 3D rendering, interactive presentation and animation. I also took part in delivering presentations at different stages of the design process for car projects. To do this I used Catia V5, Rtt DeltaGen and Maya. I also conducted a large number of side projects ranging from the generation of a 3D crossroads scene for research purposes, to the simulation of HUD reflection at low light levels with different textures using Maya.
Name of organisation:
Ashby image and print.
Job title:
Imaging Apprentice.
Dates:
December 2000
Job Description:
This is where I first learned Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. My job entailed completing briefs set by clients, using desktop publishing, and some minor technical drawings. I also trained in face to face customer service, taking orders and dealing with invoices and learnt telephone skills.
Other Information:
Producing photorealistic renderings and accurate 3D models via CAD software is a personal hobby of mine. I find the challenge of working in 3D greatly rewarding and take great pride in achieving the most accurate result. This interest has been sparked by my work on my degree and my internship with BMW in Germany. Mostly my interest in CAD and CAS has come from the fact that I find the role CAD plays in the design process deeply interesting, from initial 2d sketch work to high end 3d renderings. While at school, I was the sound and lighting director for my schools drama department, and worked on productions of Grease, Notting Hill and Fame. In my spare time, I have produced adverts for several different clients including a local crèche and a local gardening business. My favourite hobby is playing guitar. I get great pleasure from playing, both other peoples, and my own work, and find it a great way to relax.
